Keyboard problems

Sometimes, I just don’t know what’s happening to my keyboard. There are some German characters that are appearing in it. My keyboard is an American English one but I don’t know why German alphabets are appearing sometimes. It is weird also because when I type Y, letter Z is appearing on my screen…Is it because some of my software and programs are in German?..not so sure..any idea out there?? have a great day!!
