I received today a forwarded email from my sister about Sony Ericsson Laptop Give-Away. The mail has a lot of photo attachment which I also attached here. To know whether this promotion from Ericsson is true or not, I visited snopes.com. This is a good site especially when you want to know if a certain thing or anything is true or not. Before I visited Snopes website, it already came to my mine that this mail is a scam, a fraud or a so-called hoax. It simple means that it is a fraudulent email and this is not true.

REMEMBER IF YOU RECEIVE THIS MAIL, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE THIS IS A SCAM!!

Since you cannot see the wording of the one in the photo, this is what it says;

Dear All,

Ericsson is distributing free laptops for their brand promotion. They hope to increase their popularity and sale by this campaign. All you need to do is send an email about this promotion to 8 people and you will receive an Ericsson T18 laptop.

However, if you send an email for 20 or more people, you will receive an Ericsson R320 laptop.
Make sure you send a copy to anna.swelung@ericsson.com.

I am reminding everyone that if you receive such emails, please immediately delete it in your inbox because it is a fraud, hoax or false information. According to Snopes.com this email have been circulating in one form or another in the internet since 1997. It is even said that the email address anna.swelung@ericsson.com never existed and not even connected with Ericsson company. For more infos about this hoax mail, please visit this URL, http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/ericsson.asp.
