I am so sad but at the same time happy this week. What do you want me to mention first, the sad moments or the happy ones! whatever!! i know that will be your answer. I don’t care anyway..wink! well, I am very sad because, I can’t use my Canon camera. All I can see on the LCD screen are black. Everytime I press the shutter button, everything is still black…what is this!! what’s happening to my camera..I am quite disappointed as we were in Manchester last Wednesday because I can’t use it anymore…what can I do but to wait till I go home and have it fix….the happy side is that I am still enjoying my escapades here…really great!! thanks to all friends for all their goodness!! enjoy your weekend guys!! I will!!

INNSBRUUCK, Austria (UPI) — An Austrian-led team of scientists has discovered ripe yellow bananas glow an intense blue when viewed under ultraviolet light.

Researchers from Austria’s University of Innsbruck and scientists from Columbia University in New York said the blue glow results from the degradation of chlorophyll that occurs during ripening.

The team, led by University of Innsbruck Professor Bernhard Krautler, said the usual yellow appearance of bananas is mainly the result of carotenoids. Under normal light, the natural pigments appear yellow. Under UV light, also known as black light, ripening bananas appear blue instead of yellow.

“Surprisingly, this blue luminescence apparently has been entirely overlooked,” said Krautler.

He suggested two explanations as to why the breakdown of chlorophyll occurs differently in bananas than in other higher plants, including even banana leaves. “In contrast to humans, many of the animals that eat bananas can see light in the UV range. The blue luminescence of the banana fruit could give them a distinct signal that the fruit is ripe.”

Or, he added, perhaps the chlorophyll degradation products also serve a biological function for the banana, helping prolong the viability of the ripening fruit.

The research appears in the journal Angewandte Chemie.

I had a slight car accident last time. My car is quite new and I already hit another car. It is an accident but not really that bad. At least nothing bad happened to me but only some scratches in my car and the door side in the driver’s side of the car that I hit. The good thing is that, I have a car insurance that paid all the damages. I am really very thankful about it because it save me paying all those damages. See how important it is to have a car insurance especially if you own a car!! So better get one to avoid more headache and stress!! But always remember to always drive safely and carefully!! Hi to all! I am back here. First of all I want to let you know that I will out of the country again. I will be visiting United Kingdom. My flight will be tomorrow. Of course, I am quite excited because this is the first time that I will visit this country. What do you expect. I hope I can visit you here and give you some updates about my escapades!

These are the 8 pieces rechargeable batteries which I need for my Canon camera, a 4GB USB stick for saving some files and photos and an 8GB SD card for my camera again. I also ordered other stuffs and paid around 65Euros..I guess its is not so bad..I need them anyway!! Online shopping is sometimes very convenient. agree with me guys!! hope you had a great weekend!!

We attended last time the baptismal of our close friend. She just gave birth to a baby boy last June of this year. Time runs so fast and last October 5 was already the baptismal. Her baby is so cute that I want to pinch his cheeks. The baptismal party was a simple but enjoyable one.
