A Holiday with a Difference

If you’re looking for a holiday with a difference this year, why not try a cruise? While many cruises cover weekly or fortnightly itineraries ranging from the Mediterranean and European hotspots to the faraway shores of the Caribbean, a selection of shorter cruise itineraries are designed for first-timers or those who just fancy a quick getaway.

And when it comes to choosing cruises, 2012 is lining up to be a cracker. Whatever you fancy, this year’s range of itineraries offers something for everyone. Take a 2-night break to Amsterdam, explore the incredible Norwegian Fjords or go all out for a transatlantic cruise and take in the bright lights of New York. Or if you prefer sands to cities, there are any one of dozens of different itineraries to suit. Many cruises take place around the Mediterranean, giving you time to savour the azure seas and hidden bays of the Balearic Islands, Portugal, Southern France and more.

But the destinations are only part of the story. For instance when you cruise Thomas Cook you’ll get a package style of holiday with all the essentials included – flights, accommodation, support – and more, including meals and snacks onboard and special treats such as themed dinners and afternoon teas. You’ll also find plenty of facilities onboard too, but these usually go far beyond the expectations of staying in a hotel. Depending on the ship you’ll find anything from heated pools and fitness centres to rock climbing walls and cinemas.

Cruise ships are famous for their onboard entertainment too, which often features a range of Broadway-style shows and musicals with glittering costumes, high kicks and powerful voices.

So whatever you like from your holiday and however you like to spend it, there is something to suit everyone onboard a cruise.

Just A Present

I had a conversation with hubby while taking our dinner tonight. We tackled about vacation. Our vacation this year will be in  Baltic region. I forgot to call the travel agency today to book it. We are also planning to have a vacation to the Philippines next year. Hubby remembered our last vacation especially when he gave some presents to my nieces and nephews. He thought of giving lindberg models to one of my nephew who loves model  cars. Last time, we gave him small cars and he loved  it. Hopefully in our next vacation to the Philippines, we can already bring more presents  especially to family and relatives.  It is just a present but  when it makes someone happy,  it just feel good to me. So as the saying goes, “It is better to give than to receive”.

Long Distance Call To Home

I am trying to think how many kilometers  am I away from my home country. As far as I can remember during my last vacation there in 2010, it is almost ten thousand kilometers depending on your location in Germany going to the Philippines. This morning I made a long distance call to my family. In order to make the call cheaper, I am using a certain code which I can find every Tuesday in a local newspaper here in Germany. They call it in German the Vorwahlnummer. You have to dial it first, then the country code in the Philippines which is 0063 and the telephone or cellphone number.

The main reason why I called was to greet my dearest Mother in her 65th birthday today. Here are my wishes for her and some lovely yellow roses for her birthday. I wish I am home to celebrate it with you.

We  wish her more days and years in her life,
good health always and more blessing to come.
Most of all  we  would like to wish her more happiness,
love, peace and contentment in life.
Happy birthday dearest Mother!
We love you always!

Wishing you all the great things in life,

hope this day will bring you an extra share of all that makes you happiest.

Need More Outdoor Activities

I usually love outdoor activities. I love to go walking, jogging, hiking, biking, trekking and mountain climbing especially during my younger days. I was even on the highest mountain in the Philippines 9 years ago. That adventure we had in Mount Apo last 2000 was truly a great experience for me. I can’t imagine I did climbed the highest peak in my home country.

Since I live in Europe now, I still do some of these outdoor activities especially walking and hiking. I am doing it in trying to help myself  lose some excess weight and to be physically fit as well. I am also trying to have proper diet and I am trying to do it seriously. I am also asking how does indigo-3g work? Does it really help in losing weight? How about its side effect to the body. I am not really an expert about this matter. Since spring is here, I hope to do more outdoor activities when the weather gets friendlier. I just need to do it!

The 100th Anniversary of the Titanic: 10 Things You Didn’t Know

April 15, 2012, marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Here are 10 things you may not know about the luxury ship, which sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton England to the United States.

* On the evening of April 14, the first-class passengers on the Titanic enjoyed a ten-course meal that included oysters, poached salmon, sirloin of beef, lamb with mint sauce, chocolate éclairs and waldorf pudding. According to Armchair World, a different wine was served with each course, and coffee and cigars accompanied by port and distilled spirits were available with the last course.

Warm Summer in the Philippines

I mentioned in my other blog that I want to go walking this afternoon. I guess it is not happening anymore. It is still showering outside and I don’t want to get sick. Besides it is also very cold. We are still having our heater on inside the house until now. This is one of the reasons why I miss sometimes the summer season in the Philippines. Too hot summer is not also good because we surely need aircondition. I bought one of the kids ceiling fans during my last vacation in my home country. It is good to turn the fan on when it is too hot.

I hope to spend another summer in the Philippines and hopefully next year soon. I need again to recharge by visiting my home country. Have a nice week in advance!

Facebook Timeline, Yes or No?

Do you have any idea how many millions of facebook users are in this world? I just read a news online that there are around 300 millions of users worldwide. Imagine that! It is so far the biggest social networking site in the history of world wide web. I believed most of you know especially the facebook users,  that there are   changes or updates that are  always going on  in Facebook. One of these is the so-called Timeline.  Millions of users have  been using this upgrade now.

I am also a facebook user. As for me, I am quite happy and contented with  the old facebook. I mean not the Timeline but the old version.  Last week, I read from my sister’s  wall that her facebook was automatically updated to Timelime  without her doing it.  Do we really don’t  have the  choice now  if  we really want to remain using the  old version facebook. Would this mean that our personal account will also be changed and accessed  by facbook without our consent. Where is the freedom of choosing our personal choice?

I  also read on a friend’s wall that all facebook users will be upgraded  to b Timeline starting April 17, 2012. Is there a way to remain in the old facebook version? I am quite sad if ever it will happen. I will see. If I am not happy with it, I might as well delete my facebook account.  What you do think folks? Happy facebooking!

Chat With My Bro

After over a month, I finally had a chat with one of my brothers back home. It lasted for over an hour. I am happy to hear from him again and some updates from our family. He also reminds of our never-ending project. I hope that this little home will be finished before we go home for retirement in my home country. He also reminds me of Mother’s incoming birthday. His birthday is also coming next month and I am planning to give him one of those cool Nitro Gas RC Cars. I can’t afford the real one but only this remote controlled car for playing. I find it cool and just thought that it is a nice birthday gift for him. What do you think folks?

Scam Mail about Job Employment from email address roddyxgreenawayvn6@hotmail.com

I received this email last April 4, 2012  but only read it today. It is about a job offer. When I was carefully reading and analyzing it, I concluded that this is a scam or spam mail. It simply means that it is a fraud mail.  Did you noticed that  the  “From: came from  “lkirberg@accessus.net” email address but when I hit reply to this mail  it was redirected  to  email address  roddyxgreenawayvn6@hotmail.com.  I searched online about accessus.net company  but I believed that this mail did not really come from this site. The website was also trying to open some  pop-ups which might be viruses or malwayres. I also tried to search about    lkirberg@accessus.net email address and found it in this permalink,   http://www.alphadeltazeta.org/Home/Articles/itemId/11/St-Pats-2008-The-Best-Ever.aspx.

I also tried to search about  roddyxgreenawayvn6@hotmail.com but can’t find it anywhere  online. Any idea who knows  this scammer?

New Coffee Maker

April is finally here! It was so far a nice day I had today. I am happy watching the new blooms of daffodils in our garden this afternoon. The tulip flowers are also starting to grow. I am thankful for the wonderful day I had today. One thing that makes me happy was, I am finally home safely. After three weeks of staying in Spain, I am back to my nest again.

When I was unpacking my luggage today in the living room, I found out that there is a new bunn coffee maker lying on the floor. The box is still unopened. Hubby told me that he bought a new one since two weeks ago. I guess his old coffee maker is almost retiring. He said that is it working slowly and everytime he makes coffee, it always took him some times until he has a glass or two.  He said that the new machine has a three-year warranty and it is an advantage for us.  Hubby is just a coffee-lover while I am a tea drinker.
