Of what use is money in the hand of a fool,
since he has no desire to get wisdom?
(Prov 17:16 NIV)
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding
but delights in airing his own opinions.
(Prov 18:2 NIV)
Better to be fooled on April Fool’s Day.
Than to be fool the entire year.
For those of you not in the U.S., April 1st is called
April Fool’s Day.
April Fools’ Day or All Fools’ Day although not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools’ errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible.

limn LIM (transitive verb) – 1 : To depict by drawing or painting. 2 : To portray in words; to describe.
“…Her excellent memory could not limn her lover’s features clearly; she had to reread his love letters to be sure that in truth he had existed, that they had loved one another and that the nights in the room of the armoires were not her invention.” — Isabel Allende, ‘Daughter of Fortune’
Limn is from Middle English limnen, alteration of luminen, from enluminen, from Medieval French enluminer, from Late Latin illuminare, “to illuminate,” ultimately from Latin lumen, “light.”

PRINCETON, N.J. (UPI) — U.S. molecular biologists have determined proteins found in the intestines of some ants might be used to create new antibiotics for gram-negative bacteria.
Princeton University researcher Natividad Ruiz, lead author of the study, and his colleagues discovered two key proteins guide one of the two groups of pathogenic bacteria that make carpenter ants’ strong outer shells — their defense against the world.
The work, the biologists said, could allow researchers to create antibiotics against gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella. Such antibiotics would destroy the bacteria by disabling the mechanism that produces their protective coating.
The study that included Princeton Professor Thomas Silhavy and researchers from Harvard University is to be reported in the April 8 online edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

DURHAM, N.C. (UPI) — Being born prematurely can impact how well people do in school and their ability to have children, a study by U.S. and Norwegian researchers said.
Lead author Dr. Geeta Swamy of Duke University Medical Center said premature birth — before 37 weeks of gestation — is the leading cause of infant mortality. The earlier a child is born the higher the risk.
“Those who are born extremely prematurely are more likely to have complications throughout their lives,” Swamy said in a statement.
Swamy, with colleagues at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, used a national population-based registry from 1967 to 1988 containing birth and death data to analyze how premature birth affects long-term survival, subsequent reproduction and next-generation preterm birth.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found the lower the gestational age the greater the risk of having less education. Reproduction rates were considerably lower for men and women born preterm and reproduction increased in direct proportion to higher gestational age, the study said.
In addition, women born preterm were more likely to experience recurrent preterm birth and an increased risk of adverse outcomes in their offspring.
